Dale Nichols - Well Known Illustrator - Hand Signed Lithograph"The Golden Harvest" This hand signed limited edition lithograph has a label on back from Associated American Artists Galleries. This lithograph is no longer framed in a simple wooden frame shown in photo. It was removed for inspection and will be shipped without frame or glass. The lithograph is glued to mat and would need to be professionally separated if you would not like to have it in the current mat. The actual image (without the white border) measures approx. 11 1/2" x 7 7/8". Dale Nichols is a well known illustrator (1904-1995). Artist, print maker, illustrator, water-colorist, designer, writer and lecturer, Dale Nichols did paintings that reflected his rural background of Nebraska where he was born in David City, a small town. Although he did much sketching outdoors, most of his paintings were completed in his studio and often included "numerology, magic squares and psychic symbols." (Zellman 912) His painting The End of the Hunt (undated) won the Hearst Award at a 1930s exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago.
