The Essays of Michel de Montaigne were published in 1947 with illustrations by Salvador Dali, published by Doubleday. The publisher issued a limited edition of 1000 books in the English language, all numbered and signed by Salvador Dali. This EXTREMELY COLLECTIBLE book, numbered 864/1000, is in near mint condition. I do not believe this book was ever opened to read. Featuring 14 stunning full color plates by Dali. It was Dali himself, who matched the essays of the book, with his incredible artwork. See the photos, the drawings are spectacular ! The book is in almost MINT condition, the cover is blue cloth stamped in gold gilt on the spine and front cover. The book is housed in the original hard slipcase, with a large paper label on the front cover. (see photo) The slipcase is sturdy, in almost mint condition, but does have a show of sitting on a bookshelf with other books next to it. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to find this limited edition, Salvador Dali, signed book, on Ebay. You will find other copies of this Collectible book on the internet. I am looking at the listings right now: $1200, $1375, $1500, even $2000. From descriptions, I believe my copy is in finer condition.
