DANBURY MINT 1955 Chevrolet Nomad Station Wagon This 1/24 scale Nomad from Danbury Mint's Rod and Custom Series is up for auction. The Regal Turquoise and India Ivory Station Wagon is in the ORIGINAL Outer Box, and ORIGINAL Styrofoam packing with the Original Title, and the brochure that came with car. Car also comes with its own display case with wooden bottom that was sent with the car when new. As you can see the outer box is in great condition as well as all paperwork and the 1:24th display case that came with car. This piece was found in our owners collection and has never been displayed. It is in perfect condition with stunning blue and Ivory colors. Pictures show how well this car has been cared for thus we can be confident to call it NIB with paperwork and Display case. Following is the professional review from : THIS REPLICA WAS RETIRED AS OF 12/31/1998. With the possible exception of woodies, Chevy Nomads and Pontiac Custom Safaris of 1955-57 must rank as the coolest station wagons ever manufactured. They had sportier presence than most passenger cars of their day, being fashioned after a Corvette concept car. They also had nearly as much utility as conventional wagons; but their relatively high cost kept sales low, and GM's redesigned 1958 lineup excluded the body style. Needless to say, these sublimely handsome cars are highly collectible today.Proportions on Danbury's model look exact, finish is impeccable, and details abound. The multiplicity of exterior and interior chrome trim is crisp, smooth and virtually to scale, and not to be overlooked are the white accents on the side spears and wheel covers (replete with valve stem representation). Dashboard, steering wheel and column bespeak the then-new Chevy Look, and the bright sill plates carry minute "Body by Fisher" logos. Stowed with the spare tire, under the removable cover in the cargo area, are separate jack and handle. The nicely replicated 265 c.i. V8 is (to a reasonable degree) wired, plumbed and labeled. My only quibble is with the door fit - not nearly as good as on recent DM replicas. But I'll take more like this 4-out-of-5 star beauty, please; and I'd not mind a Custom Safari along the way! The issue price is $109 + $5.80 S&H. (03/19/1999) Finally, this piece has long been discontinued, it is an early piece of DM with GREAT DETAIL.
