A majestic structure with a teflon-coated fiberglass roof that was 19 stories high, the RCA Dome was one of the finest arenas built during its time. With the success of the Indianapolis Colts on the field, it was also one of the most exciting places to watch a game before it was raised for the building of the new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.Formerly known as the Hoosier Dome, the stadium was built in 1983 on 7.25 acres for $82 million. Lying in the heart of Indianapolis, the dome was best known for its roof, which occupied over 349,000 square feet and weighed over 250 tons. In 1994 the stadium's name was changed after RCA paid $10 million for 10-year naming rights. This auction is for a great replica of the former RCA Dome and would make a perfect addition to any Colt fan's collection. The replica RCA Dome was part of the Danbury Mint's NFL Stadium Collections and was purchased in 2007. This beautifully crafted piece has never been displayed and will come in the originally packaging that it was shipped in. Good luck bidding on this very rare find!!
