You are looking at a 100% authentic Indycar steering wheel from Danica Patrick’s 2008 race winning season with Andretti Green Racing. This was Danica’s primary steering wheel from that season including the actual electronic switches and carbon fiber / titanium paddle switches. This is the wheel she used for her first Indycar win at Twin Ring Motegi. The switches are cut and tied up for the purposes of displaying the wheel but are the actual switches that Danica used to control her Honda / Dallara race car. These include PLC (pit lane cruise), Radio, Fuel Trim (A) Engine Setting (B), Drink Bottle Pump, Engine Rev Limit Adjust, Pi Dash Reset, Pi Dash Page, Weight Jacker Adjust, Neutral (for gearshift control) and the Overtake Button. These switches vary slightly from the in car pictures as over the course of the year she had them moved and tweaked to her preferred location. In addition, labels were added to the ECU switches to assist Danica in reading their position. You can see in the pictures that a vinyl sticker covers the old location of the neutral button, while it was moved to the PLC location and the PLC button was moved to the left. The race car is constantly changing with many different improvements over the course of a season or even a weekend – this wheel tells a story with the development of the button positions she uses today as she adjusted to the use of the gear shift paddles which were introduced in 2008. This wheel became her backup wheel in 2009 and was fully retired in 2010. The assembly is the exact wheel and switch plate used in 2008 as Danica’s primary steering wheel. The wheel includes the embroidered Andretti Green Racing center cover. The wheel is Danica’s preference shape and diameter of Momo steering wheel modified by Andretti Green Racing to accept the Pi Dash. Extra Options: This wheel is auctioned as is shown, but to make it even more complete options can be added after the auction. These are offered separately such that the piece can be customized at the buyer’s discretion and they may have a complete wheel if they so desire. Prices are added to the final auction price. Please note that adding any of these options may add one or two weeks to handling time as the wheel is customized to the buyer’s specifications.
