What a fabulous 1950's Swedish sofa. This piece is sheer elegance. The sweeping lines (just look at the lines!) are borrowed from an earlier Gustavian period, but with a simpler, more modern, 1950's European sensibility. The angled legs and sculpted arms are solid Walnut with a rich warm patina. This sofa is extremely well crafted in a cabinet maker's manner and compares well with works by Carl Malmsten, as well as others. is a link for comparison sake: /itemdetails.php?id=151413 . The stunning fabric is a satin, quilted jacquard with a modern floral print. Very, very comfortable. This perfectly sized piece measures 68" long (5'8"), 31" deep and stands 31" tall. The seat is 20" deep and sits comfortably 17" from the floor. It weighs approximately 95 lbs. T are minor (easily sanded) scratches, the worst being noted picture #7. The upholstery is the highest quality and looks amazing, but could use a thorough "spot" cleaning (see pics 9 & 11). No holes, rips, tears or missing buttons. Overall, excellent vintage condition. This piece is elegant and sophisticated. It would look outstanding in any High Danish Modern or Hollywood Regency setting.
