Danish Modern set of 6 Dining Chairs

The Swedish embassy in Washington DC sold off some furnishings a year or two ago and these six chairs were from that sale. The chairs themselves are from the mid 1990's as can be seen from the production dates on the bottoms of the seat panel. I would expect their design is also from that time period. It shows clean contemporary designing. They are very well made with cast aluminum seat base, lightly padded leather seats and cast components for the armrests. The seat backs are curved plywood with black stain. The leg frames are a rectangular metal tubing with a light bronze color. The backs have a pleasing springy feel. The armrests are an engaging design with their floating profile. Notice the careful designing of the use of a slight curved backrest that is mirror in the shape of the wooden armrest and seat.
Size: 34" tall x 22" wide with a seat height of 17 1/2". Armrest height is 26". Made in Sweden by Klaaessons Mobler AB Condition: The metal frames, armrests and backs show little normal wear. Three of the leather seats show impressions from being stacked (see photo closeup). This chair design allows them to be stacked but I am sure this was only intended for those models with wood seats and leather covered seats as these are. Shipping or pickup location is Silver Spring, Md. 20903 (suburban Washington DC). The chairs can be easily broken down for economical ground shipping to the continental USA for just $99 for all six chairs.
