You are bidding on a brand new, uninked, Danitrio Prototype "Cho-Cho" (Butterflies) Maki-e Fountain Pen With 18kt flexy Extra Fine Nib . The maki-e theme is very traditional, yet the pen is done with more abstract approach. The pen is made by maki-e artist and is signed "Shunpei" and with his red seal as seen. The pen is a cartridge/converter filler. The pen is new and is complete with box, paper, and converter. The pen is made with traditional maki-e techniques by Japanese maki-e artist and is done by hand. The pen is ebonite based. The base urushi is of rich blue color with very fine gold powders sprinkled as background. This gives a very striking effect. Each butterfly is then done using different maki-e techniques: gold flakes, colorful urushi, raden with shells etc. The approach of this maki-e is much more abstract than traditional. This is a perfect pen for someone who perfers non-traditional maki-e looks and likes bold brilliant colors. THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I HAVE.This unique pen is offered with LOW STARTING and NO RESERVE . Time to add this prototype maki-e pen to your collection. The pen measures 5.75" closed; 5" from tip of the nib to end of barrel. The size is comparable to Montblanc 149, not a small pen.
