D'argyl French Porcelain Lidded Cigarette Holder & Ashtray (circa 1920) If you like having only the very best pieces of authentic and very rare European Art pottery in your collection then consider this one! This work of art has the most incredible colors and glazes you could ever hope to find! I just love the the stylish true Art Deco design combined with the rich floral patten on the lid! D"argyl was famous for his art glass such as Galle' and Tiffany. His works on porcelain are even more difficult to find! This is the first example like this I have ever seen offered on Ebay or anyw else! The only thing that exceeds the detail is the pristine condition! No cracks....no chips....and no repairs of any kind! (blacklight tested) Appears to have never even been used other than for display....just outstanding! The colors are deep, rich, and perfect too....browns, greens, blues, and yellows....all against the turquois and black background! Sure to take center stage in any collection! Measures an impressive 7 3/4" long, 5" wide, 2 1/4" high, and very heavy. Hand signed by D'argyl on the base.
