Offered here, from 1968, is the DARK SHADOWS GAME , based on the cult ABC weekday afternoon television series featuring Jonathan Frid as the vampire Barnabas Collins. The show also featured zombies, werewolves and other monsters. It ran during the years 1966-1971. This game was manufactured by WHITMAN (catalog number 4870). The box measures about 18" x 10 1/2" x 1 1/2". The game includes a "Mysterious Maze Game Board" (actually a sheet of thick paper measuring 30" square), a Deck of 52 Vampire Cards and four two-piece "Novel Playing Pieces." The lid of the box has a number of drawbacks including a large chip missing on one of the panels, another large detached panel chip that remains with the box, splits, paper loss and the remnants of an old price sticker. The main image area of the box lid is mostly pretty clean and undisturbed with some light general surface wear. The bottom of the box is in good sturdy condition with no splits. There is some minor edge and corner wear present on the box bottom. The contents of the box, on the other hand, are in Near Mint to Mint condition. Despite the condition of the lid of the box, the game inside was never used. The deck of cards and playing pieces are still securely sealed in their original wrapping, and the paper "board" is in unblemished condition aside from some very light fold wear read more
