Offered for auction is this large size (11 1/2", 29cm) Dartington "Palm" serving dish designed in 1983 by the award-winning Anita Harris. It is catalogued as pattern number AH364, and is justly known as one of the iconic glass designs of the 1980's. This dish, which is in excellent condition, is the largest size which was made. It measures approx. 29cm wide (max) x 11cm deep, and weighs a hefty 1,200g. It still bears the original Dartington label, seen in the foreground of the photographs. The fruit has been added in the gallery photograph to give scale to the dish: normally, however, it is on display in a cabinet, and has never been used at table. It is in splendid condition, without any chips or cracks. Place it on a firm surface and "ping" it with a fingernail, and it makes a wonderful bell-like ring. Lack of display space forces the sale of most of our glass collection, and we part with it reluctantly.
