LOT 115Seller's Estimate: USD 3,000 - 4,500We are pleased to offer for sale this Bronze Sculpture by well renowned, listed Southwest Sculptor Dave McGary (1958-2013), After receiving a grant at the age of 16 to study the art of casting from the finest foundry workers in the world, in Italy, Dave McGary returned to America and settled in Sante Fe, New Mexico. There the relationships he forged with Native American students eventually lead to opportunities for the artist to meet with the tribal historians and learn the stories of the tribal families and their ancestors. This Painted Bronze Indian on wood turntable is titled 'Bears Nest', and is number 10 of an edition of 75. It is signed, numbered and dated 1994, with thumbprint, by the Artist. There is a brass plaque with the name 'Bears Nest' and the Artist's name on this 20" x 13" deep (with feathers) sculpture.
