Having sold his first knife 30 years ago Knifemaker's Guild member Dave Ricke knows how to put them together and finish them. This traditional 19th century style English Bowie knife sports a 9-1/8" blade of 1/4" 440C stainless, flat ground and beautifully hand rubbed with a satin finish. The oval double cross guard is stainless again with a nice hand rubbbed finish and excellent press fit. Generous handle scales are Indian Sambar stag, now becoming harder to get thanks to that country's various embargos. Overall length is 14". Ricke has built a very authentically styled English sheath of brown leather with nickel silver throat and tip. The knife fits smoothly and securely into the sheath.
