For Sale is a beautiful Davenport Cup and Saucer. Davenport pottery and porcelain were made at the Davenport factory in Longport, Staffordshire, England, from 1793 to 1887. This particular piece according to the stamp mark dates between 1870-87, I can't be certain of the exact date but it does have a pattern number 1419 which may help an expert in this field to get the exact date. The pattern is beautifully hand painted flowers and gold painted decoration and gilding, absolutely stunning.The condition is very good for its age, there are no cracks or restoration. There is crazing on the cup, mainly around the handle and underside. There is rubbing to the gold gilding on the saucer and cup and the pattern is worn away in places mainly to center of both pieces, there are also scratches on the surface of both the cup and saucer.
