Very unusual cufflinks, probably 1950s era, that feature abstract designs in enameled sections on the top in shades of blue with yellow. Each top measures 7/8" long by 5/8" high and the cufflinks have hinged back plates. In excellent condition with no enamel loss, and each is stamped "D-A Norway , Sterling 925 S." The silver has a gold wash or vermeil. The following information was provided by a very kind ebayer, Derek Anastasia, AOA, Men's Jewelry Category Appraiser , Association of Online Appraisers Enamel Advisor , National Cuff Link Society and the American Society of Jewelry Historians, " Your gold gilt sterling cuff links were made by the David-Andersen Co. based in Oslo, Norway. The designer at the company who created them in 1960 was named Thorbjorn Lie-Jorgensen . What you have is the " Winter " pair of cuff links in the series known as " The Seasons ." The designer used the same design but with different color schemes depicting the colors associated with each particular season throughout the year. Blue and light blue for Winter. White and Gray for Spring. Green and light green for Summer. And red and yellow for Fall. A stunning design of the early 1960s by one of Norway's most prominent manufacturers of silver and enamel work. These cuff links are rich in detail and yet strict in form and expression. T is detailed and delicate patterned work in the silver beneath the enamel. The company has for more than a century been one of the leaders of silver artistry in Norway, and among the best of the European manufacturers of silver and enamel, winning grand awards at the great exhibitions in Europe and the rest of the world."
