Up for bid is a very rare David Footer brook trout mounted on a natural white birch panel. This is a large brook trout and the mount is in excellent condition and the paint is exceptional and like no other.....truely a fine piece of art. On the birch panel is a tag that reads Caught at Club Hygienic, June 1966 by John R Schmidlin on a Mikey Finn, 5 lbs. In addition to this tag the fish itself has a tag on the back attached to the wooden form (see photo) which is the way David identified the fish for his customers. Although my price may appear high it's a steal as the value of David's fish keep going higher and higher. About the artist: As a young boy, David developed a deep interest in nature and at the age of 10 became interested in taxidermy. Now with over 69 years of experience in fine art of taxidermy, David has developed an international reputation. Along with taxidermy David is an exception wildlife artist. Since 1994, his art has been on the covers of Maine Fish and Wildlife, Canada’s Eastern Woods and Waters, and in 2002, a 13-page feature story was published in the Art of Angling Journal. His work has been of interest to numerous other publications over the years, ranging from fly- fishing magazines, books and newspapers, and most recently in a pictorial publication from the Images of America series, titled “Rangeley Lakes Region,” by Don Palmer. If your looking for an investment or a high quality piece of art this is your chance to get a piece from David. If you have any questions please ask. Thanks for looking!
