This pearlware 14" platter is beautifully printed in blue. It was made in Staffordshire by Deakin and Bailey around 1840. There are large birds in dark blue in the foreground and English countryside in light blue in the background. There are many shades of blue in this platter which is one of the things that makes it so interesting. One of the other things is the superb molding on the border. Condition of the platter is excellent.
