RARE Deceased Apollo 17 Command Module Pilot Ron Evans Autographed Cover! MINT!
Navy Captain Ron Evans was a Group 5 1966 Astronaut. After serving as backup crew for the Apollo 14 mission, he was selected as Command Module Pilot for Apollo 17, the last Apollo flight to the moon. Launched on December 7, 1972, the flight featured the longest duration lunar EVA's and endurance on the moon. Evans remained in the Command Module conducting scientific observations and experiments in lunar orbit. During the flight back to earth he conducted an EVA to retrieve film from the Service Module. This cover celebrates that event. Evans passed away on April 6th, 1990 so his autograph is relatively rare. Schmitt and Cernan have signed at private events so it is possible to add their autographs at a later date. Item is a standard sized 3 ½" x 6 ½" commemorative cover cancelled on the launch of Apollo 17, the last manned mission to the moon He has signed the cover in black ink and features the Apollo 17 Mission Patch. The cover is in mint condition.
