"You are bidding on a fabulous old Dresden porcelain figurine. This magnificent piece is marked with the blue crown and N on the bottom along with the numbers 550 incised under the glaze; our research indicates this is the work of Ernst Bohne Sohne of Rudolstadt Germany, pre-1930. (Based on the marks found in Rontgen's reference book Marks on German Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain; and the fact that the original owner brought this from Germany as part of their personal collection when he moved to the US in the late 1920's.) It features a lovely dancing lady in classic flowing dancer attire with her arm gracefully extended. This rare piece features glazed (clothes) unglazed bisque (arms, legs and hair) and gilded details. The workmanship on this piece is amazing, take a look at the facial features, the detail in the subtle shading and colors and design of the clothing and the lovely gilded detail. You can even see jewelry! This beautiful piece is approximately 10" tall and the base is 5 x 4". It is in superb condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. It could use a minor cleaning, but that is all I can find at fault. We acquired this with several others from this family's collection that have remained with the original purchasing family until now, and have been very well cared for.
