Description: A plate warmer is a metal or wooden stand for holding plates before an open fire, used in the 18th and 19th centuries. Plate-warmers vary in shape but often form a tripod. One type, known as a cat, comprises three crossed rods. This plate warmer is black with gold painted birds on a branch. It has two ornate brass carrying handles and particularly well caste legs. We pack very well, however; if the item is breakable we strongly recommend shipping insurance. If the buyer elects to ship without insurance we will not accept responsibility for breakage or loss in transit. Reference#: 0008 Condition: good Year: 1880 Country: France Height: 30 in.
