these are a pair of metal lamps-i think copper.the hole drilled in the bottom for the wiring-as pictured-looks like solid copper.they are from the 50's or 60's with old harps,solid wood bases etc.they are embossed around the hole but some of the words are missing because the hole is dead center and wiped out some of the words.it says G+S and an arch with words beginning with - republic.....etc.these lamps are extremely well crafted and are brass,silver and copper.they have a pattern engraved around the top edge-each different.the shades are clean and good.dimensions are 34 to top of finial x 16 top of metal base x 7 widest diameter.a wonderful pair of handcrafted metal lamps.thanks for looking.
