This half pint Ball Perfect Mason fruit jar has beautiful deep aqua color. While I have it listed as pre-1900 it more than likely was made after that--probably 1915 or later. I believe this size is hard to find in aqua. Ok, on with it--this jar has a elongated--about 1/2"--bubble pop right w the lid would rest on the rim. I say it is a bubble pop (or maybe a bubble that has taken a blow) because you can see the beginning of the bubble at each end and it definitely does not go through to the inside of the jar. As a matter of fact, the rim of this jar is very crudely made with lots of manufacturing "flaws". They are everyw!--but I definitely feel that they are in the making. The top screw line, or thread is very sharp at one of the seam lines because the glass is not completely filled in on one side. The jar is a bit rough along the very top inside edge. The rest of the jar also has lots of little bubbles, etc.--all in the making. The elongated "pop" is visible as you are looking at the jar from the front. It is pictured with an Atlas lid--I probably have an extra Ball around and will send that along also if I find one. The embossing on the jar is very distinct. On the bottom is a C (I think) that is underlined--also a rough area that is in the making. If you want, send me your email address and I will email you pictures that you can enlarge with a click that really show all the "character" of this jar. Maybe it was apprentice day at the factory! Well, it still is a pretty little thing with that deep aqua color (the pictures without the lid show the color the best) and maybe someone will want it after all! Thanks for looking!
