This vase is a wonderfully detailed Ginbari/Cloisonne vase (silver foil wrapped around a metal body). The front has a very well done blossoming plum branch overhanging bamboo shoots and nicely detailed Chrysanthemum flowers . On the back of the vase, the artist designed the silver foil into a scene of two finely detailed birds perched on a bamboo plant. The vase stands 7 tall. The rims and bottom are Silver (95%) and are in very good condition. The overall condition of the vase is near perfect, however there are two tiny starbursts that measure .0625 (1/16) on the back portion of the right shoulder. I tried to get a picture of them but they are small enough that they are hard to see. Although vase is unsigned, the attention to details by the artist would seem to suggest that it was created in one of the better studios. This piece dates from the Taisho to early Showa period. Pre 1930.
