Monks are fairly common in cookie jars, nuns are much rarer. This one is 12 1/2" tall.
DeForest was a family-owned and operated pottery in Duarte, California from 1950 to 1970. They made a lot of cookie jars during that time. Most were finished in the same earth-tone brown as this jar. It has very minor crazing, and overall is in very good vintage condition. In great shape - no chips or cracks.
