The piece that is up for auction is a Degenhart Beaded Oval Toothpick Holder in Tomato. The Beaded Oval Toothpick Holder was made by Degenhart Crystal Art Glass Company in Cambridge, Ohio. The Beaded Oval Toothpick Holder was introduced in 1967 and is marked with a "D" in a heart, inside the toothpick holder. The Beaded Oval Toothpick Holder is a reproduction of c. 1902 toothpick holder in Michigan pattern by U.S. Glass Company's Glassport, Pennsylvania plant. Old pieces were primarily made in crystal glass and decorated with color stains. The original toothpick holder has a diameter at the base of 1 7/8", was Degenhart bases have a 1 3/4" diameter. Degenhart pieces are also taller (2 11/16" compared to 2 9/16"). The Beaded Oval Toothpick Holder is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. The curator of the Degenhart Museuem identified the Beaded Oval Toothpick Holder and its color.
