Del Ennis Single Signed Baseball The offered item is a sweet spot, single signed, Rawlings Official National League Baseball, Charles S. Feeney, President, autographed in a blueish ball point pen by Philadelphia Phillies 1950 Whiz Kids outfielder, Del Ennis, the 1946 NL Rookie of the Year. The off white ball grades ex or better and the signature is an "8". The autograph has been inspected by and authenticated by PSA DNA and comes with PSA's matching serial numbered sticker and certificate of authenticity B-78708. Delmer "Del" Ennis played 11 years for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1946 thru 1956. At the end of his career with the Phils, Ennis also played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1957-1958), the Cincinnati Reds (1959) and the AL pennant winning Chicago White Sox (1959). A mainstay in the outfield, Del held the Phillies career team record for games played at the end of 1956 (later broken by Rich Ashburn in 1958). He also held the Phils career team record for home runs with 259 (finally broken by Mike Schmidt in 1980). The under-appreciated 3 time NL All Star (1946, 1951, 1955) was an RBI machine. In 1950 he was the NL RBI Leader with 126. That same year he batting .311 and slugged 31 Home Runs, leading the Whiz Kids Phillies to the 1950 Pennant. During the 14 year period he played in the Major Leagues, only Hall of Fame great Stan Musial had more RBI's than Del Ennis' 1284. In 7 of his 14 MLB seasons Ennis topped the 100 RBI landmark. Ennis passed away on February 8, 1996. No Reserve. Good Luck. ps. Check out the other single signed Whiz Kids I'll have up on ebay this week.
