Pair of Deldare Ware by Buffalo Pottery candle lamps hand decorated in their marvellous "Olde English" style. Each was painted and signed by a different decorators(M. Thomson and G Beatty). These candlesticks were made by the factory with holes for wiring and were designed to be used for electric light bulbs. (see page 98 Altman, Seymor & Violet Book of Buffalo Pottery West Chester, PA: Schiffer Ltd, rev. 1987).
Measure 4-3/4" base, 9-1/2" tall, 14" with lamp. The pottery is in very good condition; no chips, cracks, repairs or other damage. Only some minor crazing. The wiring is sold as is. Buffalo Pottery Deldare backstamp on underside. Dated 1909. Please see our inventory for more pottery, unique items and fine antiques.
