****PLEASE NOTE THAT I FULLY COMBINE POSTAGE ON MULTIPLE ITEMS SENT AT THE SAME TIME (EXCEPT FOR REALLY HEAVY ONES)****This NO RESERVE auction is for a lovely and delicate cased set of 6 silver handle butter knives. Very sweet shaped handles featuring embossed stylised foliage and multiple ridged boarders. Each butter knife is 165 mm long. The silver handle section is 78 mm long. All 6 are in very good condition. There are some light surface marks but no damage, splits or repairs. The silver plated blades are also in very good condition. They just need a good clean. The hallmarks are a little rubbed but remain fully visible. The hallmarks are:- WY - makers mark of William Yates Ltd, Crown - Sheffield assay office stamp, Lion passant - British sterling silver standard stamp and e - assay office date stamp for 1922. The case is also in good condition. It has red leather type material on the outside (with some small scuff marks here and there) and white silk/indigo velvet on the inside. There is an interesting provincial retailers mark - "Goldsmith P Barnett Cowgate PETERBOROUGH". The push button catch needs some adjustment to properly catch the top lid. The lid can easily be made secure (closed)with a little push on the front of the top lid but an adjustment to the catch should fix it properly (I do not want to mess with it so am leaving it for the buyer). The hinges are fine. Please see the pictures and ask any questions that you wish. **** I expect payment within 7 days. International buyers can pay by BACS or Paypal only. This item will be sent by RECORDED DELIVERY to the UK and INTERNATIONAL SIGNED-FOR to the rest of the world. Everything is sent recorded/signed-for as per e-bay requirement for proof of postage. This is a particular disadvantage to my international customers as Royal Mail charge £4.95 just for the 'signed-for' facility (UK recorded 77 pence). Please check my other items to see if there is anything else you might like (and thus get some better value out of the postage). I sell worldwide but will not send to some areas (such as Africa or the Sub-continent) unless you have very good feedback. In short - I will not send items if you have bad feedback. I try to send items out within a day or two but occasionally the real world catches up and it can take a little longer **** I am not a professional antique, jewellery, coin or camera seller. I try to describe things as accurately as possible but remember that I am an amateur so always check the pictures and ask questions. I rarely have problems and they are usually associated with the post office. My wife and I have accumulated loads of very nice stuff over a period of many, many years. Much of this has ended up in the loft where is not doing us any good. I am listing this huge accumulation as and when I can so please add me to your favourites list and check back occasionally - a lot of really strange, weird, interesting, old, collectable and other very nice stuff comes out. Thanks for looking, Dean
