Here is a delightful 1950's vintage Norwegian folk art wood carving of a fisherman and his boat at the shore by the noted folk art carver N. Tangseth. His wooden sculptures are very collectible as he is a gifted craftsman. His work is exchibited in the Murmansk Regional Museum. This piece is in excellent original condition with no damage at all and measures 13 1/2 by 19 1/2 inches. It's 1 inch natural pine molding is in excellent original condition and compliments the work perfectly. It is signed and titled in the bottom left corner: N. Tangseth 1959 with the title verso "Gammel Fisher". A well executed folk art carving showing a lone fisherman tending to his boat and gear at the shore. Wonderful coloring and shading here with a unique folk art carving style-it shows beautifully on the wall and is perfect for your marine decor!
