Deluxe Universal's a version of the 15-90 Singer with a carrying case. It's a Heavy Duty Sewing Machine for most fabrics, lightweight to medium Leather, and Vinyls. This is an all metal machine and can handle just about anything you can throw at it. These are simple machines with a wide verity of attachments that can be bought for it. The motor is a Mamco Corp rated at 1. something watts. I can't make out if it is just a 1 or 1. something. If it is just 1 watt, I'm guessing it would it to be around .9 amps. The date on the motor looks to be Sept 1963. Also, for heaver type of sewing, larger amp motors are available and are easily changed out. Back in the 30's, 40's, 50's, & 60's Singer sewing machines were pricey, even considering the payment plans and trade-in allowances that were offered. The high prices created a demand for knock-offs made by Precision of Japan. The main competitors to Singer that were selling these were Sears Roebuck and Montgomery Wards, and other retailers. The machine has been cleaned , oiled and checked for proper sewing and as seen in the sample pieces, sews just fine. There is no signs of rust and minimal scratches on it.
