Prior to Carnival Glass production,Dugan Glass of Indiana Pa. made colored glass which was not iridized. Here we have "A TABLE WARE ASSORTMENT" which I attribute to Dugan because of the elaborate feet. You can compare the feet on these pieces to those on the "FAN CREAMER" and "DAHLIA" patterns later produced in iridescent Carnival glass by Dugan. On this full table set of Creamer, Covered Sugar,Covered Butter and Open Spooner we have plain Olive Green color with Gold to enhance the beauty of the set(very similar to Dugan's "Diamond "D" Gold Decorated set).Note the feet and the tops of the covered items. The Gold is used to simulate green jewels. The open items have the tiny balls along the tops of glass decorated in Gold. One would expect to find wear and damage to the covered pieces from use. This set was described to me as never having been actually used but put out for show on special occasions. It had been a wedding gift. There are no cracks, chips (even to the undersides of the covers)and no repairs.I find almost no scratches from use. This is in pristine condition.
