VASELINE GLASS 3 1/2" PERFUME BOTTLE WITH TOP 1800s - 1940s Description: This VASELINE GLASS perfume bottle is from the depression era - or earlier (explained below). It is in Very Good to Excellent Condition. The bottle measures approx. 3 1/2 " with the top on and it measures approx. 2 1/2" just to the top, w the top goes in. It is approx . 6/8" across the opening. The "sides" to the bottle alternate between flat and a pattern that resembles English Hobnail. The cut pattern is not as "sharp" or protruding as English Hobnail --it is flatter. One of the pictures shows the pattern fairly well. It is squares, "cut" with "x". The Top or stopper is an " X" not a simple round ball. It has many sharp points, as the " X" is also cut into a circular shape m(as if they started with a ball shape and went from t to a 3-D " X"). It sparkels beautifully. With a magnifying glass -- and only with a magnifying glass - you can see that some of the points have been nicked. This is a beautiful piece. I tend to OVER STATE any "defects" and this piece a debated for a long time before deciding to sell it, as it is very pretty -- but it just doesn't fit in my house or with things I have.
