This is Item# 5549-2. This is number 1696 of 17,500 (3,024). It was issued in 1991 and retired in 1992. This piece was supposed to be a Limited Edition of 17,500, however due to production problems t were only 3,024 of them issued. They were only released to GCC (Gift Creation Concepts) dealers. Of these 3,024 that were issued, Dept. 56 says that t are about 20% of them that are not perfect. So, if that is the case, t are only 2,420 that are perfect, making this piece even more valuable. The design was originally intended for Dickens Village. This building is very susceptible to firing cracks and other flaws. This particular building is perfect. I purchased it on the secondary market for an outrageous price, so I checked it over thoroughly before I bought it. The towers are straight, t are NO cracks or other flaws of any kind on this building. The styro box and sleeve are in excellent condition as you can see by the photo. This piece was only displayed one time since I had it and I purchased it in 1993, so it could not have been displayed much. I require insurance on this item, due to the rarity and value of it. Insurance is included in the shipping and handling cost. I package all of my items with the utmost of care, but t is always the possiblity of loss or theft. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Shipping read more
