It was a duplicate gift, and is an absolutely "new" retired piece. For those who collect Dickens Village for Christmas display (or as gifts) this is a truly perfect opportunity to acquire a lovely rare piece. It is a beautifully made porcelain collector's item. T he Fred Holiwell House was introduced by Department 56 in December 2001 as part of its "A Christmas Carol" series; it was retired in December 2004, and continues to be a sought-after item. The porcelain House measures 6 x 5.75 x 8 inches and features a beautiful 3D interior with softly glowing internal illumination (uses 120 V, with power cord switch). The interior depicts a three-dimensional scene with party guest playing Christmas Holiday games, just as described in the Charles Dickens' story (or the marvelous 1970 movie ). Please note that the trees and snow shown in the picture are not part of the Holiwell house; they can be purchased from Department 56 vendors as items 56.52019 and 56.49979, respectively.
