For many years, Department 56 was famed for creating winter villages. But many collectors wanted to display their pieces for more e than just a few months each year. Then it happened. In 1998 Department 56 introduced Season’s Bay with buildings exceptionally crafted and more finely detailed than many pieces in other collections. But what make this collection so different is the fact that they all lack snow. You are bidding on a hand painted porcelain lighted building from Department 56’s Season’s Bay collection called the Chapel on the Hill. Please take a moment and look at some of the wonderful detail on this building from the stone work at the foundation, the brickwork, the roof, the “stained glass windows, the railing around the coupulla and even the gold handless on the front door. Everyw you look t an interesting addition. The chapel was introduced in 1998, retired in 1999 and is style number 53302. This is actually a first edition and is identified by the gold cross on one end of the building as well as the stamp on the bottom. T is no Styrofoam packing or outer sleeve for this building because it was purchased at the closing of a Department 56 showroom. It was actually taken right off of the corporate display.
