This Dept 56 Snow Village Gus's Drive In ( item # 55067) was released in 2001 and retired in 2003. This unique set of 7; features a drive in building with a light up 3-D window display showing Gus inside flirting with a car hop. The covered serving area has 4 dome lights that light up as well as the large brightly lit yellow "Gus's Drive-In" sign on the roof that features flashing yellow lights on the sides of the Marquis. The main building roof is red with the covered area roof is blue and white stripe and large likeness of a car hop on the roof holding her tray with a hamburger; fries and a milkshake on it. The chimney and corner posts are silver and black check. A hanging sign at the end of the building advertises the 6th annual Hot Rod Rally on Saturday December 18th. This piece a beautifully hand-painted with great detail and coloring. This set contains the ceramic house with light cord; a ceramic car hop on roller skates carrying a tray over her head with milkshake, hamburger, fries and ketchup & mustard containers; 2 separate car trays; 2 free standing menus; and a sandwich board advertising the Hot Rod Rally. This classic American fast food place will make a wonderful addition to any Village display and because it has no snow or Christmas decorations on it; and is suitable to be left out all year long.
