This cake/bread basket is marked Derby Silver Co. #01206 on bottom. It is unusual in that it's sides measure 3.25" high at ends and 2.5" on sides. It is rectangular in form! This is not as common as circular, low sided pieces. It is all open work except for the bottom and is beaded around basket edge. It is four footed with a scroll like design. The handle has a aesthetic feel with three parallel, slender handles, connected by small spheres, and tapering down and meeting at hinged joints. It has a swing handle. It adds another 7.5 " to height. The condition is good! Note: There is some tarnishing and slight plate wear! There is a little corrosion on inner lower seams of basket and bottom of feet, that can be seen in photos. The mini spheres, that link individual slim handles, have become unsoldered from one side or the other. They are all there and secure!!! This being said, it is one of the nicest baskets that I have seen and looks elegant!!! I Stand behind all items and their descriptions!!!
