This is a nice set of two (2)... "Crackle Glass" Bud Vases... made by the long gone Dereume Glass Factory... once located in Punxsutawney. PA. One is in Dereume's Golden Honey Amber glass color... and the other is in their exclusive... deep Teal glass color. The Honey Amber vase stands 8 ¼ inches tall... has a hand formed "pour spout" style top rim... and a hand applied handle. The Teal Vase stands just a bit over 7 ½ inches tall... and has an unusual "five-point" hand crimped top rim. These vases are hand-made... being "blown" into a mold... and then hand finished with the appropriate top rim... and as in the case of the Amber vase... a Handle added after the crackling process was accomplished. The vertical "mold lines" are clearly evident on the Teal vase. It also has some "checkering" in the glass near the bottom. This occurred during the Crackling process... and I would consider as being "as-made". Other than that... both Vases appear to be in very nice condition. Just a bit of information on "Crackle Glass". We don't see much of it anymore... and we're not really sure why. Was it just a passing fad???... Or can we place the blame on the high cost of producing this gorgeous type of glassware???...
