FLAMEDescoware PAN/LID This is a bright and sweet little pairing in which the 2cup skillet is also the lid for the 4cup pan. As a lid, the 1 5/8" high skillet fits snugly into the 3" pan's rim. The skillet diameter is 6 5/8" and the pan's is 7". Distance from edge of pan to end of handle is 11 ½". Both have heat rings, and the handles have ample holes that match up for hanging. The photo shows two rice size chips on the skillet, and t are a few minor fleabites on the rim of the pan. Both have tiny crazing on the bottoms of the white interior. That said, these are still two mighty nice vintage Descoware enameled cast iron pieces. The hefty, shiny enamel pans have that fiery red fading to orange color, and a fine pedigree. I read that the company morphed into Le Creuset, and indeed, many early pieces of Le Creuset sure look like Descoware. The bottom of the pan is embossed: 89-A/ 18 P/ FE BELGIUM. Descoware MADE IN BELGIUM is also fired on the bottom of the pan. This is a versatile stovetop set, and will make a dandy dutch oven too!
