Full Box of 50 Matches / Matchbooks from the now gone Desert Inn Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The box has been taped since it was coming apart. The Desert Inn opened in 1950 as the fifth resort on The Strip. Home of the world famous golf course played by numerous celebrities FRANK SINATRA made his Vegas Debut at The DI in 1951. Howard Hughes added to its fame. He was originally staying at the property, and when he was asked to leave, he purchased it! After acquiring the Desert Inn, Howard Hughes started purchasing other hotel/casinos on the Vegas Strip. The Desert Inn closed its doors in 2000.
