Offering this wonderful edition of Charles Dickens immortal story A Christmas Carol, illustrated by Everett Shinn, and an introduction by Lionel Barrymore. Published by Garden City Publishing, New York, 1938, could be a first edition, although not stated as such on copyright page. Red cloth hardboards with ornate gold leaf border with a center cameo in ivory with title and author in gold lettering; paper label on spine. Good+++ condition, no spine cracks, no stains, no fraying, very slight corner bumps. Inside front and back fly leaves are a colorful city scene. Pages are clean, crisp, no tears, stains, or scribbling. Front & back inside hinges had a paper crack which have been mended with acid free archival tape. Wonderful full page color and also black and white illustrations throughout. A must have edition for your collection or a great gift!
