This is a Vintage Dietz traffic gard lantern #40, Syracuse, NY, USA in good condition. The red paint has minimal chipping and t are a few small dings. It has a clear glass globe in good over all condition but the globe does have a small crack on the bottom. The globe says DIETZ #40 on the side. The lantern measures 8 1/2" high x 7 1/4" in diameter at the bottom. T is no rust and t are no holes. The fuel cap has the Dietz logo on it, and is removable. The base is clean on the inside. The wick is intact and I have raised it about an inch. When looking inside the tank t appears to be several inches of unused wick.
