This lantern is in LIKE-NEW condition. It has NEVER been used! The factory brown paper bag is torn and dirty from storage, but will be included in the shipping of the lantern. T are "three" very small paint-rubs on the upper ring that, no doubt, occurred during shipping. That and a small "dent" is found on the base. It is an ORIGINAL in every way. It was made in Syracuse, New York, U.S.A. The ridged red glove has the following imprinted on it: DIETZ NIGHT WATCH FRESNEL SYRACUSE, NEW YORK, U.S.A. Likewise, on the globe is a white sticker that says: "Peep Hole In Globe To Observe Proper Setting Of Flame." This lantern came from an estate of a retired construction foreman. You may find other lanterns of this type for sale, but to find one in this condition would be most unusual!! This would be a true "find" for the serious collector!! If you wish to insure the item, the cost would be additional.
