ATTENTION: Please read this description carefully and email me with any questions before Bidding. Remember to check this listing during the auction for any addendums I may add. A superbly crafted, dramatic and elegant bowl employingtraditional Arts & Crafts methods.Entirely handmade with subtle hammered surface and chiseled details to the brass foot.Has stamped 'Windmill' mark with the words 'HAND WROUGHT'above and 'SAN FRANCISCO' below.As near as I have been able to tell, this mark was used by Dirk Van Erp.In excellent condition with as found patina and very little wear. One small area of miniscule nicks to the surface underneath near the brass foot. These are barely noticeable and I mention them for accuracy.4 & 1/8" height by 8 & 3/8" length by 6 & ¾" width. The identification and dating of Antiques and Decorative Arts is at times a more or less subjective endeavor. For a variety of reasons, one 'expert's' results can differ from another's. My descriptions are based on my researches and experience. The time to question these, is before bidding, not after. I go to great lengths to be as accurate as possible and to provide enough photographs to allow the buyer to exercise their own judgment. However, I cannot be responsible for differing opinions, when brought into play after the close of an auction. If you remain uneasy about an item I am listing, even after contacting me, the decision to bid will be your responsibility. I have regretfully had to 'draw this line', due to a rash of disreputable deadbeat buyers, who have attempted to back out of their purchase commitment, by interposing the 'opinion' of a non-substantiated third party. This despite the fact that the object was accurately represented and well photographed.PLEASE NOTE: Unless it's absolutely unnecessary, ALL of my items are shipped double boxed, with sufficient buffer/packing room all around in each box. I am a meticulous packer, taking time and trouble to try and insure that the item arrives undamaged. I do not charge for materials or handling. However, my scales is not calibrated to the Post Office scales, and the difference of an ounce can alter the cost of shipping by $1 or more, up or down (the price changes at the first ounce over the even pound weight). I do my best to be as accurate as possible when calculating shipping, but cannot be responsible for any discrepancy between my scales and that of the Post Office.
