Discontinued Spyderco ATR C70BKP BLACK Plain Edge Blade #072V I must sell my ATR set. The ATRâe(tm)s are sure to rise in value in the months and years to come. This knife is new in box never used or carried. It is absolutely perfect. I spent a lot of time finding and keeping the absolutely perfect ones. I bought and sold many before settling on this one. This is a very nice knife. This is the Spyderco C70BKP BLACK Plain Edge ATR/A.T.R (At The Ready) knife. It locks up tight and the blade centers perfectly. Included is the original Spyderco factory box. This knife has collector #072V laser engraved on the blade. THIS KNIFE WAS THE HARDEST ONE FOR ME TO FIND OF MY COLLECTION They have been discontinued and are becoming harder and harder to find. The illustrated Spyderco Knife is the Spyderco Black ATR Knife that features a 3-7/16" blade made of VG10 stainless steel. The blade of this Spyderco Knife has a non reflective black Titanium Carbo Nitride coat, Spyderco hole and Cobra Hood for ambidextrous one hand opening. The drilled stainless steel handle, 5" closed, has a black Titanium Carbo Nitride coat, a side to side reversible black metal pocket clip is mounted at the butt end. The Spyderco Black ATR Knife has an overall length of 8-1/2" and weighs 5.25 ounces. This knife has the integral Compression Lock. This lock, which was developed by Spyderco, is exceptionally strong since it relies on compression of the metal piece of the lock rather than friction as is the case in many other folding knives. This lock also has very few moving parts, which reduces opportunities for wear or failure. The knife is made in Seki City , Japan . The blade, which is snub-nosed and cants upward, is thicker at the tip of the cutting edge for durability during strenuous use. It has grinds on either side of the tip like a dagger to facilitate penetration, but the swedge on the back of the blade is not sharpened. This knife is so strong that it is rated for martial artists to use for blocking and locking opponents with the spine of the blade. The ATR has a Spyderco Cobra Hood, which is a flange of textured steel above the hole that guides the thumb into position for rapid, effective opening of the blade. The Cobra Hood also provides a place to press the thumb for more leverage and security.
