Wildly successful, this film put Disney feature animation back on the map, and paved the way for a decade of cartoon film treasures to follow: Alice in Wonderland , Peter Pan , Lady and the Tramp and Sleeping Beauty . As was the practice in the days before home video, the classic Disney animated features saw many theatrical re-releases on roughly a seven-year cycle--just enough time to allow already beguiled audiences a fond reunion, and to introduce the newest crop of children to the enchantment of Walt Disney's peerless brand of storytelling. is a fantastic treasure from the 1965 theatrical re-issue of Cinderella : an original, two-pieced promotional poster, called a "three sheet" (in motion picture exhibitor parlance), which is in beautiful, crisp and un-used condition! The art on this magnificent poster is fantastic: a beautiful image of the graceful gothic castle appears at the top...Cinderella and Prince Charming waltz nearby...the Fairy Godmother waves her wand...the pumpkin coach speeds by...and Jaq, Gus and Cinderella's other mouse friends cavort gleefully. Along the bottom, a phrase near and dear to discerning audiences of the day: "Look to the name WALT DISNEY for the finest in family entertainment." This poster is precisely as it was sent out to theatres in 1965. It was printed in two sections, and meant to be pasted up on a large wall, with the upper section slightly overlapping the lower one for perfect alignment. (The two pieces meet on this poster in a horizontal line running through the pumpkin coach and the words "Set To") National Screen Service mailed these posters all around the country, and we feel that this beautiful piece has only been unfolded once or twice in its life since then. T are absolutely no tears, folds, or holes of any kind on this poster. It is possible to find a small, slightly crimped area along the top, white exterior edge, far away from the colored image area, but this is exceedingly minor. As can be seen from our photos, t is absolutely not a flaw to be found in the presentation of this fabulous item. The poster will be shipped flat and folded along its original lines...as it has been stored for the last 43 years. Most collectors of high quality motion picture memorabilia have these multi-pieced items linen mounted professionally for display as well as preservation.
