Disney's Alice In Wonderland "Caterpillar" Provenance, Professionally Matted & Framed (acid-free) ORIGINAL HANDPAINTED CELLULOID DRAWING ACTUALLY USED IN THE WALT DISNEY PRODUCTION: "Alice In Wonderland" This auction is for an original celluloid that was used in the production of Alice In Wonderland. NOT A REPRODUCTION. This specific cell is in perfect condition. It has been trimmed and matted by Disney Production. It has also been professionally framed and matted (Acid-free matte) in Atlanta, Georgia. The certificate of authenticity shows through on the back. This cel was purchased from Elvena Green of "One Of A Kind Cartoon Art" in 1987. Elvena Green sold cartoon animation cels her entire life and is well known in the field by animators, especially Disney animators. Alice In Wonderland was released July 28, 1951 to theaters. It was made under the supervision of Walt Disney himself, and regarded as some of the finest work in Disney Studio history. This cel features the Caterpillar posted on a leaf with his pipe-in-hand, grabbing his rear, while speaking. He is looking off to the left. Below is a video of the Caterpillar in the movie.
