I am getting married soon and
I am trying to raise money for a home for the two of us. To raise the money, my future husband and I are selling some of our childhood treasures and collectibles. For our story, please see the about me page. COMPLETE COLLECTION Disneyland GWP ***including the Red D *** ~ never sold ~ THE PINS You are bidding on a pin set that marked the beginning of the Disneyland Resorts Gift With Purchase series. In the year 2000, Disneyland began releasing series of pins usually in a set of six that would go on a cardboard map. They released one each month and with the first one, each guest would receive one map per pin; one pin was given out per every $15.00 spent on other pins or pin-related merchandise while supplies last. Then were generally released on the first Sunday of each month and the promotion is still going although guests must now spend $20 to receive a pin (the price increase began in 2005). I have listed the other pins from the Gift With Purchase series as well if you'll take a look at my other auctions . This was the very first set ever released and is the only one with nine pins each no more than a half inch tall. Rumor has it that people didn't understand the concept when they were first released and the famous Red "D" was the first in the set. Apparently it was raining that day and people could be seen just throwing the pins in the trash not really knowing how collectible they'd be someday. All pins and the map are in MINT CONDITION although they may have been traded for at one time or another since they came out about seven years ago. This set includes an 8" x 10" map with an illustration of Disneyland Park. The pins were released on the first Sunday of every month in the following order: ~ April: Disneyland "D" ~ May: Adventureland Jungle Cruise Hippo ~ June: Frontierland Explorer Canoe ~ July: Tomorrowland Autopia Car ~ August: Toon Town Postal Box ~ September: Fantasyland Teacup ~ October: New Orleans Square Saxophone ~ November: Main Street Train ~ December: Mickey Mouse Head PAYMENT I accept the following methods of payment: money orders , personal checks , and PayPal .
