Mickey Art Sculpture Porcelain Bisque Hand Decorated by Enzo and mounted on real wood base 1947 Mickey appears in an earlier starring role from "The Brave Little Tailor", a famous film in which our hero battles a ferocious giant. Over the years, Mickey Mouse has played many starring roles in his "movie-mouse adventures," comic strips and books. His appearance evolved gradually, the influence of various artists and deliberate design changes making subtle alterations. Mickey began life as a rodent-like character with big teeth, a large nose and a long tail. The "thirties" Mickey refers to the period when our friend had wedge pie-shaped eyes, a potbelly and a long mouse-like tail. In later years Mickey lost weight and "whites" were added to his eyes. In spite of these outward changes, Mickey?s personality has remained steadfast, brave and true. With an obvious talent for drawing at the age of six, Mr. Arzenton was destined to be a great artist. As the story goes, Mr. Arzenton was six years old when he was asked by his teacher to draw a picture on the blackboard. While all his classmates drew simple sketches on paper, he used colored chalk and drew a rural scene with such depth and realism, that the view changed with each perspective. Given the nickname of "Raffaello", he started with a box of oil colors and some old canvases and moved to sculpting after inspiration from a book about Michaelangelo. He began with clay from the plowed fields in front of his house and moved to training at the Art Institute of Vicenza.
