BRAND NEW & AUTHENTIC 12 Inc h PIGLET Pook-a-Looz Plush Doll! Description This is a Disney Authorized Product from Japan and is 100% Real! I am an active collector of Pook-a-Looz and have been since they were first released. While completing my collection, I found that the United States weren't the only ones to get Pook-a-Looz, Japan had their own line of Pook-a-Looz plush released too. Piglet was one of the original set of Pook-a-Looz released and has become almost impossible to find. This is the Japanese released plush that is virtually identical to the US release. HISTORY: Pook-a-Looz, called "Too Cute for Their Own Good", are Disney Stuffed Fleece Plush released in December of 2009 in the United States. Inspired by a doodle from a Disney Employee, they are modern, Japanese Anime-esque takes on popular Disney and Pixar characters. There are currently 63 different Pook-a-Looz characters made into plush in various sizes. Here I have compared the US Piglet Pook-a-Looz Plush from my own personal collection (left), to the Japan Piglet Pook-a-Looz Plush (right). As you can see, they are almost exactly identical.(US Piglet is NOT included in this auction, is not for sale and is for comparative purposes only.) Side by side, you can see that they are of the exact same design. Japan Piglet has slightly more stuffing than US Piglet but is still the 12 inch size. The stitching and construction, though, are of equal high quality. The main difference is the loop attached to the back of the head, which the US versions do not have. This is used for display, such as hanging on walls like a picture frame. Their body tags are different as they are made by different distribution companies. Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. (T-ARTS) is a Disney Authorized Company and a very popular toy manufacturer in Japan. Don't be concerned that Japan Piglet's tag says "Made in China", US Piglet's does as well. Disney outsources most of their manufacturing to China, even for authentic collectibles. (Vinylmation, Pins, Plush, etc... are all made overseas to reduce costs.) The merchandise tags are also different in style and attachment. While the US tags are attached through a hole in the plush, the Japanese tags are tied around the body tag to prevent damage to the plush. Piglet is high quality and just like the US version. He is a must-have for any Pook-a-Looz or Disney Plush Collector who has been searching for Piglet! Piglet comes from a smoke-free, pet-free, clean environment and has been kept out of sunlight.
